AFRICAN FASHION WEEK TORONTO 2014 | Events line up and List of Designers.

African Fashion Week Toronto is a Fashion exhibition produced by AFC as a spring board for Student, emerging and experienced designers interested in establishing a presence in the North American Fashion market.

During the 4 day festivities, designers will be offered a premium opportunity to present their latest fashion forward designs to local boutique buyers, Fashion retailers, celebrity stylists, the media, and the general public.

The 2014 Event Schedule

Thursday August 7th

Opening night Industry networking soiree

Venue: TBD———7pm – 12 midnight

Friday August 8th

Location: Marriott Yorkville Toronto / 90 bloor street east

  • Fashion Arts Workshops: 2pm
  • Vendors / Exhibitions: All Day
  • High Fashion runway 1: 6pm sharp
  • High Fashion runway 2 : 8pm sharp
  • After Party

Saturday August 9th

Location: Marriott Yorkville Toronto: 90 Bloor street east

  • Vendors / Exhibition: All day
  • Fashion Industry Seminar: 11:00am – 12:30pm
  • Student Designer Competition: 1:30pm Sharp
  • High Fashion runway 3: 4:30pm sharp
  • High Fashion runway 4: 7:30pm sharp

Shadow by Sidumiso (Zimbabwe)

This is a clothing label established in 2004 and founded by Sidumiso Tshuma.       • I see some really outrageous (and extremely expensive) clothes on the fashion models, I always wondered where ordinary people could wear them. You know the things I mean. Who can afford to pay $1000’s for a dress to wear once or twice a year if you’re lucky?
        I’ve always been fat too and seems like they don’t make much really nice stuff for short fat women.
        I do love to look at the beautiful designs tho.🙂
