Ethiopian Jawns | Short Film by Esquire

 

“Ethiopian Jawns” is a short film created and directed by Toronto artist, Esquire.  (runtime 3:23 min )

It is described as a combination of acts displaying varying aspects of blackness and black culture and black colours.

The film is also scored by the song “Ethiopian Jawns” by Esquire which was released summer of last year. The film itself was inspired by the numerous police shootings of unarmed black men in the U.S. last year.

Attempting to channel the emotion felt as a result, Esquire as well as co-directors Gunna and Theo, sought to create something that would celebrate blackness
